We’re here to give a full explanation and guide on its functioning and the whole process as the Red Box Team continues to grow and enhance our talent and resources by adding a laser cutter to our increasing arsenal of machines.

Laser cutting is a technique that use a high-powered and concentrated laser to cut various materials by burning, melting, or vaporising the substance away, leaving a clean and high-level cut edge with ease. It is operated by a Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machine, to which co-ordinates are uploaded using CAD/CAM (computer-aided design/computer-aided manufacture) software, similar to how our Punch machine, CNC routers, and Waterjet function. The cutter can cut through paper, cardboard, plastics, and wood, but we will mostly use it to cut metals. The laser may also raster or etch materials with an image or text.

Our RBOR-PH 3015 laser cutter has a bed size of 3000mm x 1500mm and can cut with Air, Nitrogen, or Oxygen depending on the material, thickness, and desired cut. With this type of equipment at our disposal, we will be able to enhance our working capacity and take on larger-scale assignments that require thicker materials to be cut. We may work from your designs or we can construct the design for you and manufacture a succession of prototypes until you are confident enough to move forward with the final manufacturing step. The task may then be completed quickly, effectively, and accurately, and it can be made again with ease and minimum waste.
